The towing operator said the proposed boundary lines would wipe out his work area, and that the business is his family's bread and butter — he has an 11-year-old daughter and nowhere else to go.

A longtime contractor at the yard urged the board to keep the fence line as the boundary, arguing the space is tiny, well-screened, that no other site in the city could fit their businesses, and that redevelopment would cost the owner three-quarters of a million dollars.
